Police unions want all complaint files older than five years destroyed
Given the long history of the CPD’s criminal activities, this appears to be just one more attempt to let the perpetrators escape prosecution. http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/7/71/1243448/activists-call-state-law-keep-police-misconduct-files-destroyed A good example of why this is a bad idea is the Austin Seven case, where evidence has surfaced showing how the police framed African American police officers who were successful in removing most drug trafficking from the 15th District. http://www.austinseveninnocenceproject.com/history/ ... By design, the reforms that have been instituted over the years ne... Read more
